Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to help lead and deliver outstanding care in a single occupancy children’s home. This role is crucial in offering stability, structure, and emotional support to one young person in a calm and personalised setting.
You’ll be both a role model and a team leader, ensuring consistency of care and mentoring a small, dedicated team.
Responsibilities
* Lead shifts and provide guidance to colleagues in a single-occupancy setting
* Build strong, therapeutic relationships with the young person
* Support with emotional regulation, routines, life skills, and education
* Implement individualised care and behaviour support plans
* Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory frameworks
* Maintain accurate and timely records, logs, and reports
* Support the Registered Manager with daily operations and supervision of staff
* Handle incidents in a calm, professional, and trauma-informed manner
Qualifications
* Minimum of 6 months’ experience working in residential childcare
* NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, attachment, and behavioural support
* Ability to lead by example and support junior staff
* Excellent communication, patience, and resilience
* Full UK manual driving licence – essential
* Flexible and reliable approach to shift work
