Job Description

Your new company You'll be joining a global biopharmaceutical organisation driving innovation across a number of disease areas. You'll be part of an experienced team, working in a collaborative research environment supporting the discovery and early development of next‑generation therapeutics. Your new role This is initially a 12 month contract position, based completely in the company's labs. As a Senior Scientist working on in-vitro immunology studies, you will provide scientific leadership and hands‑on support to advance discovery and early development programs. Key responsibilities include: Designing, planning, and carrying out in vitro studies to support target identification, validation, and translational pharmacology Providing hands‑on technical expertise in in-vitro immunology models, ensuring appropriate model selection, scientific rigour, and alignment with project needs Testing and evaluating small molecules and biologics using relevant in-vitro model systems Supporting the establishment, optimisation, and qualification of in-vitro models, including oversight of CRO‑conducted studies when required Analysing complex experimental datasets and contributing scientific insight to guide project decision‑making Collaborating effectively with colleagues across project teams and matrix functions to support discovery objectives Maintaining high‑quality documentation and contributing to study summaries, reports, and presentations What you'll need to succeed A strong candidate will bring deep immunology expertise and a delivery‑focused mindset, as well as: An MSc / PhD (or equivalent experience) in immunology, biochemistry, biology or a closely related field, with relevant post‑doctoral or industry experience Extensive hands‑on work with in-vitro immunology models relevant to immune‑mediated inflammatory diseases Expertise in primary and immortalised cell culture, immune cell separation, co‑culture models, flow cytometry, ELISA/multiplex assays, and other molecular biology techniques, eg Western blot Proven ability to design robust in vitro experiments and interpret complex datasets Strong scientific rigour, organisational skills, and ability to contribute within multidisciplinary teams Experience with 3D in-vitro models, immunofluorescence microscopy, immunohistochemistry, or basic coding for the analysis of large datasets is an advantage but not essential for this role All candidates must have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship until at least June 2027.
