Job Description

Permanent Senior Site Engineer Opportunity – Civil Engineering Projects Our client, a well-respected civil engineering contractor, is seeking to appoint a permanent Senior Site Engineer to play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-profile projects in Orkney. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to make a meaningful contribution to a significant development scheme. Role Overview The successful candidate will be a qualified Site Engineer.  In your role as Senior Site Engineer you will support the Site Agent to ensure that the projects are well managed and delivered on time.  It is essential that you have a demonstrable background working and delivering on civil engineering projects across various sectors particularly renewables, wind farms, roads and highways. Key Responsibilities Setting out and surveying activities Conducting initial surveys and site investigations Implementing strategies as agreed with management Verifying design plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy Supporting the overall management of construction works Assisting with contract re-measurement and valuation Contributing to new tenders, surveys, bulk earthworks calculations, and value engineering Overseeing quality control and on-site health and safety Preparing method statements and risk assessments Providing technical support to the wider team and carrying out additional site engineering duties as required Qualifications & Skills Required Minimum HNC qualification in Civil Engineering Previous experience within a civil engineering contracting environment Experience on power, renewables, or substation projects is highly desirable Working knowledge of CAD is advantageous Proven experience in setting out and surveying is essential Valid CSCS card and 3-Day First Aid certification preferred SMSTS or SSSTS qualification is required Willingness to travel and work across various sites in Scotland Full UK driving licence Familiarity with the power, energy, or renewables sectors would be beneficial What’s on Offer This role offers a highly competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement, and a comprehensive benefits package.
