An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Darlington’s Children’s Front Door Service in a non-case-holding Social Work post. As part of the Children’s Initial Advice Team (CIAT), you will be central to how we deliver early help, family support and social care intervention—ensuring that every child receives the most appropriate support, when they need it.

In March 2020, we reimagined our Front Door Service by forming the CIAT, incorporating Professor David Thorpe’s innovative model. Since then, the team has gone from strength to strength—building a strong reputation for effective, collaborative working.
As a Senior Social Worker in this team:
* Competitive hourly rate of £32
* You’ll work at the heart of a multi-agency hub alongside police, health, education, and early help colleagues.
* You will respond to incoming contacts and referrals from both professionals and the public.
* You’ll need to think quickly, assess risk effectively, and use your professional judgment to make informed decisions.
