Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading UK-based bakery manufacturer renowned for its innovation, quality, and commitment to excellence. This business supplies a wide range of premium baked goods to major retailers and foodservice clients, and is now seeking a Senior Specifications Technologist to join its growing technical team.
About the Role
As Senior Specifications Technologist, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring product compliance, managing specifications across multiple platforms, and supporting NPD and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle. You’ll be the go-to expert for retailer portals, pack copy accuracy, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain specifications for all major UK retailers
* Ensure accurate and compliant pack copy, artwork sign-off, and labelling
* Liaise with NPD, QA, and commercial teams to support product launches
* Lead technical input for customer audits and product submissions
* Stay up to date with food legislation and retailer requirements
About You
* Proven experience in a specifications role within food manufacturing (bakery or chilled preferred)
* Strong working knowledge of retailer systems (e.g. Tesco, Asda, M&S, Sainsbury’s)
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
* Confident communicator with a proactive mindset
* Degree or equivalent in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field
