Location: Remote / Plymouth (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Rate: Negotiable on experience
Inside IR35
Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to support a major dock infrastructure programme. This role will involve reviewing and managing design packages across civil and structural systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and operational requirements. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering input for a high-profile defence-related project.
Key Responsibilities:
Review civil/structural design packages and ensure integration with other systems
Provide expert guidance on structural engineering and compliance with HSE and quality standards
Support planning, implementation, and delivery of engineering work packages to time and budget
Manage subcontractors and liaise with stakeholders across engineering and construction disciplines
Ensure effective documentation, risk assessments, and adherence to quality management systems
Requirements:
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Chartered status preferred)
Experience in heavy civils and marine engineering (remedial marine structures desirable)
Familiarity with seismic design is advantageous
Strong understanding of quality and safety regulations in complex infrastructure projects
Previous experience working on large defence or marine infrastructure programmes is ideal
