Job Description
The Opportunity
Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
The Project
The SIXEP Continuity Plant (SCP), being delivered by the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) at Sellafield, will ensure the site’s existing Site Ion Exchange Effluent Plant (SIXEP) facility can continue its vital work for decades to come.
The newbuild SCP facility will play a vital part in Sellafield’s purpose to create a clean and safe environment for future generations. Once operational SCP will ensure the nuclear site will have continued availability to treat and make safe the effluent created by risk reduction activities.
The role
Due to continued work, SCP are now looking for a Senior Structural Designer to
* Develop innovative design solutions for complex nuclear projects, ensuring high standards and adherence to industry best practices.
* Detailing, draughting and modelling of structural steelwork and concrete including Concrete GA drawings and Concrete RC detailing
* Work with multi-disciplinary teams to create integrated design solutions, promoting effective cooperation across all functions. Deliver work in collaboration with site-based construction teams.
* Assist and mentor CS&A Apprentices and other Technicians, fostering their technical and professional growth.
* Apply and support BIM principles and processes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
* Adhere to and promote health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members
As a Senior Structural Designer you will have
* HNC minimum in a relevant discipline or equivalent academic qualification.
* Relevant experience across the full lifecycle of design activities.
* Proficiency in CAD tools and BIM processes, especially Autodesk Revit (essential)
