Role: Senior Structural Engineer

Salary: £44,000- £50,000

Location: Chippenham

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their award-winning Structural Engineering team in Chippenham. This is a key leadership role within the office, offering the opportunity to shape project delivery, mentor engineers, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Lead and manage the structural engineering team within the Leicester office

  * Deliver high-quality structural designs across a diverse project portfolio

  * Take responsibility for project delivery from concept through to completion

  * Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and contractors

  * Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians

  * Contribute to business development activities and client relationship management

  * Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and BIM Level 2 requirements

Project Portfolio:

You will work on a wide variety of projects throughout the UK, including:

  * Education, healthcare, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors

  * Projects ranging from small housing schemes to multi-storey developments

  * Construction values typically between £250k and £30m

Experience & Skills:

  * Minimum of 10 years’ experience in structural engineering

  * Proven experience in leading teams and delivering complex projects

  * Strong design capability using steel, timber, masonry, and reinforced concrete

  * Good working knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles

  * Experience working within BIM Level 2 environments

  * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

  * Chartered Structural Engineer (or working towards chartership)

  * Relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  * Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

  * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
