Job description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Position: Senior Support Worker – Children with Learning Disabilities & Autism About Us: We are a committed and caring organisation devoted to creating small, therapeutic homes that offer personalised care for children on the Autistic spectrum and with other complex needs. Our emphasis is on nurturing environments, where qualified support staff and clinical specialists work hand in hand to deliver tailored therapeutic interventions. We accept children with varying degrees of need and place them in the most appropriate home setting to ensure they receive the right level of care, nurturing, and therapeutic support to meet their individual requirements. Role Summary: As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the health, development, and emotional well-being of the children in our care. You will: * Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of support workers, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. * Therapeutic Support: Collaborate with clinical specialists to implement individualised therapeutic plans tailored to each child's unique needs. * Safe & Enriching Environment: Foster a secure, structured, and stimulating home environment that supports learning, emotional development, and social engagement. * Care Planning & Adaptation: Regularly monitor each child's progress, maintain accurate records, and adapt care strategies in response to changing needs. * Advocacy & Communication: Advocate for the rights and well-being of each child, and work in partnership with families, educators, and external professionals to ensure holistic support. * Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure all care practices adhere to safeguarding protocols, regulatory standards, and internal quality-assurance procedures. * Individualised Support: Deliver one-on-one care to children with learning disabilities, addressing their personal, emotional, and developmental needs. * Daily Living Assistance: Support children with everyday tasks, including personal hygiene, meals, and participation in leisure or recreational activities. * Emotional Wellbeing: Provide emotional support to help build confidence, resilience, and a positive sense of self in each child. * Collaborative Working: Engage with colleagues across disciplines to develop and maintain a unified, therapeutic approach. * Progress Monitoring: Maintain detailed reports on each child’s development, identifying challenges and celebrating achievements. Qualifications: * Experience working with learning disabilities, ideally with children. * Level 3 Children & Young People or equivilent qualification. * Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work as part of a team with the children.
