Senior Planner – Town Planning - Manchester

We are working in partnership with a well-established, independent planning consultancy to appoint a Senior Planner to join their growing team in Manchester.

The business provides specialist planning and environmental consultancy across all types and scales of development, including complex projects. They advise developers, landowners, and public sector clients from feasibility through to delivery, covering major applications, public consultation, appeals, and Environmental Impact Assessments—ensuring projects are robust, compliant, and achievable.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) to take ownership of planning projects and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-led planning solutions.

The Role
As Senior Planner, you will work independently and collaboratively on a variety of planning projects, including housing land supply assessments and planning appeals. You will provide strategic input to clients and project teams, ensuring robust planning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Undertake housing land supply (HLS) assessments

  * 

    Manage and support planning appeal work

  * 

    Provide high-quality planning advice across a range of projects

  * 

    Liaise with clients and multidisciplinary consultants

  * 

    Support project teams with project management and strategic planning input

Requirements

  * 

    Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI)

  * 

    Minimum 5+ years’ experience in private planning consultancy

  * 

    Broad, well-rounded planning experience across multiple project types

  * 

    Experience of managing planning appeals and HLS assessments

  * 

    Strong client handling and project management skills

  * 

    Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs
