Senior Town Planner
Location: Leeds
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and expanding planning and development consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their team in Leeds.
This award-winning firm has built a strong reputation across Yorkshire and beyond for delivering high-quality planning advice across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. With a diverse portfolio and strong pipeline of work, this is an exciting time to join and play a key role in the continued success and growth of the business.
The ideal candidate for this Senior Town Planner role will have experience delivering a range of planning projects from initial strategy through to decision, along with a strong understanding of the local planning landscape and confidence in client-facing situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading on planning applications, appeals, and site appraisals
Providing planning strategy advice to clients across various sectors
Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders and consultants
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team
Assisting with business development and growing client relationships
Staying up to date with relevant planning legislation and policy
Requirements:
RTPI-accredited degree and MRTPI status (or working towards if at a near-final stage)
Experience in a similar role within a consultancy or local authority
Strong report writing, communication, and project management skills
A commercial mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving
Comfortable operating independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence preferred
