Senior Transport Planner
Exeter
£40,000 - £50,000
We’re working with a well-established Exeter-based consultancy who are looking to strengthen its Transport Planning team with the addition of a Senior Transport Planner.
You’ll be joining at a busy time, with a strong pipeline of development planning and infrastructure projects continuing well into 2026.
The role
Take ownership of projects from day one on a wide variety of transport planning and multi-disciplinary schemes
Manage client relationships and represent the consultancy in public consultations and negotiations with local highway authorities
Prepare and oversee technical work, including feasibility studies, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and S106 negotiations
Mentor junior colleagues and play a key role in supporting the long-term growth of the team
What we’re looking for
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related subject (MSc Transport Planning desirable)
Around 5–10 years’ relevant experience
Strong knowledge of highway design guidance (MfS, DMRB etc) and the planning system (NPPF)
Experience using key software such as ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, GIS and Excel
