Senior Unreal Engine / C++ Engineer (Graphics / XR Lead)
UK Remote
We’re working with a studio recognised for high-quality Unreal engineering and real-time XR environments used across broadcast, sport and live events. Their digital twins, interactive visuals and data-driven systems are well regarded for clarity, performance and on-screen accuracy. The role
As a Senior Unreal Engine / C++ Engineer, you’ll lead the development of real-time visuals across XR features, broadcast output and simulator environments. This is hands-on C++ and Unreal work: shaping technical foundations, building modules that are used repeatedly across productions, and ensuring the final on-screen result behaves as expected. You’ll guide junior contributors, review code and Blueprints, and help maintain consistency across different projects.
What you’ll work on
* C++ and Blueprint development in Unreal• Plugins, data-driven visuals and asset integration
* Standardised AR, VR and simulator modules
* Adapting systems for branding, layouts and sponsor requirements
* Working closely with technical and art teams
* Reviewing Unreal work from junior developers
* Testing new Unreal features and XR techniques
* Supporting rehearsals and live events when needed
What you’ll bring
For the Senior Unreal Engine / C++ Engineer, the studio is looking for:
* Strong professional Unreal Engine experience (UE4/UE5)
* Advanced C++ for real-time or graphics-focused systems
* Experience building Unreal plugins
* Confident Blueprint skills
* Ability to improve lighting, materials and rendering performance
* Experience creating AR, VR or XR features
* Comfortable integrating live data into a real-time pipeline
Nice to have
* Experience in real-time broadcast environments
* Experience with AR tracking or XR compositing workflows
* Motion design exposure
* Experience adapting visuals for different brands or layouts
* Prototype-driven R&D experience
* Ability to create tools that reduce bespoke work
* Confidence supporting show-critical moments on site or remotely
