Sue Ross Recruitment are seeking an Operational Team Leader on behalf of a reputable legal firm in Souith Yorkshire.
This role is responsible for leading a team of Serious Injury Paralegals to ensure the delivery of strong operational, customer, and financial performance. The Team Leader will play a key role in coaching and mentoring team members, supporting individual and team objectives, and contributing to the wider leadership strategy. The role is part of the Serious Injury leadership team and is instrumental in driving growth, engagement, and excellence in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the recruitment, onboarding, and resourcing of paralegals, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to support performance goals.
* Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with paralegals as part of the progression programme, providing guidance on Personal Growth and Development Plans and facilitating related development opportunities.
* Manage absence, wellness, disciplinary, and performance-related meetings in line with HR procedures, with support from the People Team where needed.
* Analyse performance data to identify gaps, collaborate with Fee Earners and paralegals to address knowledge or performance shortfalls, and develop tailored training programmes as required.
* Facilitate and deliver training sessions during induction and on an ad hoc basis to support team development.
* Collaborate with the leadership team to implement strategic objectives and embed them within the team.
* Contribute to the organisation’s talent mapping process and support its execution and outcomes.
* Assist in the completion and delivery of midpoint and end-of-year performance evaluations.
* Coordinate with Fee Earners to integrate new paralegals and ensure effective mentoring and workflow support.
* Oversee daily work allocation for paralegals, ensuring alignment with their designated Fee Earners.

Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience in leading teams and managing performance and productivity, ideally within a professional services environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* Demonstrated experience in conducting 1:1s, personal development planning, and performance reviews.
* Confident in using and interpreting management information (MI) and performance data.
* Open to exploring new technologies and capable of supporting teams through change and development initiatives.

Working Hours:
Full time – 35 hours per week. Flexible working is fully supported but as this is a people leader role, on site presence may represent more than 50% of your working week.
