Service & Technical Advising Specialist – Powerhaul Locomotives
Location: Leeds (Onsite)
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30 AM – 2:30 PM (37 hours/week)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We’re looking for a Service & Technical Advising Specialist to join our expert team in Leeds, supporting the performance and reliability of our Powerhaul diesel-electric locomotives. Ideal for Technicans looking to step into an advising role where training is provided.
This is more than just a job, it’s a chance to become a certified subject matter expert through world-class training at our facility, where you’ll gain deep knowledge in electrical diagnostics, engine maintenance, and technical support.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Provide hands-on technical support and guidance during locomotive maintenance activities.
Work closely with customer production teams, offering expert advice on troubleshooting, tooling, and locomotive status.
Analyse performance data to help improve reliability and uptime.
Travel within the UK as needed to support operational requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
A Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (preferably electrical).
Strong electrical and/or mechanical aptitude.
Experience with large diesel engines and diagnostic tools (e.g. multimeter, megger).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
A background in rolling stock or locomotive maintenance is highly desirable.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
