Job Title: Service Manager
Location: Shenington Airfield,Banbury, Oxon OX15 6NW
Terms: Full Time (on site) Monday – Friday
Salary: Salary dependant on experince
Requirements: 2+ years experience as a service manager, driving license, ability to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
About us: Bruce Hopkins Ltd is an established supplier of agricultural, groundcare, and construction machinery, based at Shenington Airfield near Banbury. We’ve been supporting customers across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas for over 50 years, supplying and servicing equipment from leading brands such as Polaris and Bobcat.
About the Role: We’re looking for a Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our workshop and service operations. You’ll manage a team of skilled technicians, ensure work is completed to a high standard, and maintain clear communication with customers and suppliers.
This position requires someone organised, technically competent, and confident in leading a team. Experience in agricultural, groundcare, or construction machinery would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
• Managing and supporting the workshop team, overseeing PDI work and service schedules.
• Allocating jobs, managing time and workloads, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Writing and processing job cards accurately.
• Booking in machinery for service and repair.
• Liaising directly with customers regarding ongoing repairs, updates, and service requirements.
• Handling warranty claims and related paperwork.
• Managing and maintaining the hire fleet to ensure availability and reliability.
• Working closely with the Parts Department to ensure all required parts are ordered and supplied correctly.
• Maintaining good working relationships with our main franchises.
Ideally you will have:
- Previous knowledge of IBCOS Gold (If not there will be a detailed handover and training will be provided)
- Good mechanical knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to participate in further training
- Willingness to work overtime during peak periods
