Service Manager – Plant Equipment
Location: Swindon
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Step Up and Lead Plant Workshop Operations A well-established site is looking for a confident and organised Service Manager to oversee its plant workshop and field-based service work. This role involves managing technicians, ensuring repairs and maintenance are carried out efficiently, and keeping the team running smoothly to deliver a high standard of service to clients in the construction and heavy equipment sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the daily running of the workshop and mobile service operations
Lead and support a team of technicians to complete repairs and maintenance
Prioritise and allocate workloads to meet project deadlines and minimise downtime
Implement maintenance schedules and ensure safe working practices
Maintain stock levels, tools, and equipment availability
Track and manage workshop performance and technician efficiency
Handle team training, development, and appraisals
Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures
Work closely with management to resolve operational issues
What You’ll Need:
Level 3 qualification in vehicle or plant repair
Proven leadership experience in a similar environment
Strong knowledge of plant, construction, or heavy equipment
Organised, proactive, and focused on delivering quality work
Confident communicator with a hands-on approach
Ability to manage workload and respond calmly under pressure
Full UK driving licence
