Setting Out Engineer

Location: Leiston / Sizewell area, Suffolk
Duration: Long term
Start: September

We are recruiting 2 experienced Setting Out Engineers for a major civil engineering scheme based near Leiston, Suffolk.

Candidates must have a strong civil engineering background, with previous experience setting out earthworks and associated heavy civils. Applicants coming solely from building or residential projects without substantial civils experience will not be suitable.

Duties

  * Setting out earthworks, drainage, roads and associated civils

  * Using GPS and robotic total station equipment

  * Establishing levels, coordinates and profiles

  * Producing and checking as-built surveys

  * Checking works against engineering drawings and specifications

  * Maintaining accurate engineering records

  * Assisting with QA documentation

  * Resolving technical and setting-out issues

  * Working closely with supervisors and site management

Requirements

  * Proven Setting Out Engineer experience within civil engineering

  * Strong experience working on earthworks packages

  * Previous highways, infrastructure or heavy civils experience

  * Confident using GPS and robotic total stations

  * Experience with Leica, Trimble or similar equipment

  * Ability to interpret engineering drawings

  * Relevant engineering qualification
