Colchester Area
£65,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus (Package of circa £80,000)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven SHE Manager to join a leading FMCG / Food Manufacturing company based in the Colchester area. This is a well-established and fast-growing business with ambitious plans for the future—and they’re looking for someone who shares their passion for continuous improvement and creating a best-in-class safety culture.
This is a site-based leadership role, ideal for a forward-thinking SHE professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited by the challenge of shaping a proactive, compliant, and improvement-focused safety culture
As the SHE Manager, you will take full ownership of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance and strategy across the site, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Lead and develop the site SHE agenda, ensuring legal compliance and continuous improvement
* Drive proactive safety culture through training, engagement, and visibility on the shop floor
* Monitor and report on SHE KPIs, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions
* Support and lead internal and external audits (e.g. HSE, Environmental, BRC)
* Promote and embed CI initiatives focused on risk reduction, sustainability, and safety performance
* Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and technical teams
What you'll need:
* Previous experience in a SHE Manager or similar HSE leadership role within FMCG or Food Manufacturing
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) – essential
* Strong understanding of current H&S and environmental legislation
* Experience leading CI and behavioural safety initiatives
* Confident communicator, influencer, and change driver
* A hands-on approach with a passion for safety and continuous improvement
