Sheet Metal Worker

Jackson Hogg is supporting a Tyneside-based manufacturer in their search for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker. This position will put your fabrication skills to work in a role that values precision, craftsmanship, and reliability. We are looking for a time‑served Sheet Metal Worker to support the manufacture of moulds and structural components for a range of engineering projects.

What You’ll Do

  * Work confidently from engineering drawings

  * Form a light‑gauge steel plate (up to 6mm) into the required shapes

  * Operate workshop equipment, including guillotine and rolls

  * Fabricate moulds and structural assemblies

  * Carry out MIG welding on moulds and related structures

  * Complete your own quality checks and meet planned delivery dates

  * Perform weekly equipment checks and maintain a tidy work area

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  * Time‑served as a Sheet Metal Worker

  * Experience with light‑gauge steel plate forming and fabrication (up to 6mm)

  * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  * Understanding of quality assurance processes

  * MIG welding experience

  * Strong time‑management and ability to meet deadlines

Desirable

  * Mould‑making experience

  * Ability to operate a guillotine and rolls

  * TIG welding skills

  * Any additional relevant qualifications
