Pay Rate: £35 per hour
Location: Sheffield, S7 1DB
About the Role:
Sheffield City Council is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Young Refugee Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young refugees and asylum-seekers, providing tailored support, advocacy, and care.
You will work with a diverse group of vulnerable young people, including unaccompanied minors, helping them adjust to life in the UK and access the support they need. As part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with various agencies to ensure the holistic well-being of the young refugees under your care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments of young refugees to understand their needs, risks, and circumstances
Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each young person
Provide direct support and advocacy to young refugees, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld
Work closely with other social services, housing, education, and health services to provide comprehensive care
Ensure all case records are kept up-to-date and accurate, meeting legal and professional standards
Attend meetings, reviews, and conferences as requiredRequirements:
Social Work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent)
HCPC registration
Experience in working with children, young people, and families, with a preference for experience in the refugee or asylum sector
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage complex cases and work under pressure

* At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
