SHEQ Advisor – Passive Fire
Location: London for work. Rochester for the Office – site-based/office
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor with a strong background in passive fire protection to oversee compliance, safety, and quality across multiple live projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all works are completed safely, in line with current legislation and company standards, from project initiation through to completion.
You’ll act as the key point of contact between site teams and management, conducting regular inspections, reviewing documentation, and ensuring all operatives and supervisors maintain the highest safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular site audits and inspections to monitor SHEQ performance.
*
Ensure all passive fire works are delivered in line with legislative and company compliance standards.
*
Identify and evaluate risks, hazards, and mitigation measures throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Review, compile, and approve RAMS, method statements, COSHH assessments, and related documentation.
*
Provide toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training support to site teams.
*
Liaise with clients, project managers, and contract teams to maintain high SHEQ standards.
*
Track and report on non-conformances and implement corrective actions where required.
*
Support continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of safety, health, environment, and quality.
About You
*
Proven background working within passive fire protection – essential.
*
Experience auditing and advising on construction safety and compliance.
*
Strong attention to detail, with excellent documentation and communication skills.
*
Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
*
Confident identifying risks and applying practical, compliant solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements
*
NEBOSH or IOSH qualification – essential.
*
Full UK driving licence – essential.
*
Demonstrable passive fire industry experience – applications without this will not be considered.
*
Strong working knowledge of construction health & safety legislation and best practice.
