Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading and internationally recognised, utility scale solar developer and operator to recruit a SHEQ Specialist, based near Edinburgh to support operational and project SHEQ activities nationwide.

Responsibilities and duties of the SHEQ Manager role
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager you will:
Support the Head of SHEQ in day-to-day management across operational and construction projects in onshore wind and solar PV.
Lead and support all SHEQ activities across site operations, including construction, electrical and mechanical maintenance (LV, HV, DC & AC).
Carry out audits of internal teams and subcontractors, reviewing findings with Project Managers and supporting the closure of actions.
Investigate hazards, near misses, and incidents, reporting findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and tracked.
Support internal SHEQ training and ensure consistent rollout across teams.
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of SHE elements of the Integrated Management System - including policies, procedures, training, risk assessments, and audits.
Other duties as required.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
A strong health and safety background with NEBOSH General certification as a minimum (or equivalent).
Experience in the renewables sector and a good understanding of H&S of wind, solar, battery storage.
A good understanding of CDM regulations, with knowledge of ISO accreditations or audit processes considered an advantage.
Personal skills
The SHEQ Specialist role would suit someone who is:
Full UK Driving license with flexibility to travel to company assets for meetings and audits.
High level of customer focus and eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
Strong IT skills with excellent attention to detail.
Salary and benefits of the SHEQ Specialist role
Starting salary between £40,000 - £45,000.
