Shift Engineer - Reading - £53,300 to £55,350 + Training, Progression & Long-Term Career Development Do you have at least 12 months' experience in a maintenance, engineering, production or manufacturing environment? Are you someone who enjoys getting hands-on with machinery, equipment and problem solving? Are you keen to build a long-term engineering career and continue developing your skills? Do you live within a reasonable commuting distance of Reading? If the answers are yes, we are hiring for a Shift Engineer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business that is prepared to invest significantly in developing engineers who demonstrate the right attitude and appetite to learn. WHAT YOU NEED... Minimum 1 year's experience in an engineering, maintenance, production or manufacturing role Basic mechanical and/or electrical understanding A genuinely hands-on approach Strong work ethic and positive attitude Willingness to learn new equipment, systems and processes Commitment to working safely Ability to work as part of a shift team Reliable and professional approach to work What You Get In Return Starting salary of £53,300 but could be as high as £55,530 with the relevant experience outlined in this ad Structured competency-based progression to £55,350 for those outside of industry Significant investment in training and development Long-term career progression opportunities Secure and stable manufacturing environment Support from experienced engineering professionals 4 on 4 off shift pattern providing excellent time off between rotations Nice To Haves... Working within the site Engineering team to maximise equipment availability Supporting planned preventative maintenance activities Assisting with breakdown response and fault diagnosis Maintaining plant and production equipment Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard Developing site-specific engineering competencies through ongoing training Building technical knowledge with the support of experienced colleagues The Shift Pattern... 4 On / 4 Off 2 x Days: 07:00 to 19:00 2 x Nights: 19:00 to 07:00 4 Days Off This opportunity would suit an engineer at the earlier stages of their career, somebody moving from a production or maintenance background, or a time-served engineer looking to join a business that values attitude and potential as much as experience.
