Shift Engineering Lead (Electrical Bias)
Location: Goole
Salary: £58,500 + excellent benefits
Shifts: Continental (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)
The Opportunity
We're working with a leading global manufacturer that has recently invested heavily in state-of-the-art technology at its UK facility. They are now looking to recruit a Shift Engineering Lead (electrically biased) to lead and develop a small team of engineers on a busy 24/7 production site.
This is a hands-on leadership position, perfect for an accomplished Shift Engineer ready to take the next step, or an existing Supervisor looking for a new challenge.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading a team of 2 multi-skilled engineers on a rotating continental shift
Planning, allocating and supervising daily maintenance and engineering work
Ensuring compliance with safe working practices, permits to work, isolations and LOTO
Responding to breakdowns, delivering planned maintenance and driving plant improvements
Coaching and mentoring your team to build capability and drive performance
Supporting site projects, installations and continuous improvement (World Class Manufacturing) initiatives
What We're Looking For
Time-served or apprentice-trained engineer with an electrical bias
Previous experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
Working knowledge of safe systems of work, risk assessments and permit systems
Experience with TPM principles and plant reliability techniques
Some exposure to PLC and instrumentation systems (desirable, not essential)
Previous supervisory or team-leading experience (or ready to step up)
Strong fault-finding, organisational and communication skills
