Shot Blaster / Marine Blaster
Location: Plymouth
Contract: Permanent
Positions Available: 4
Pay: £17.50–£28.00 per hour
About the Role
Denholm Industrial Services is currently recruiting four experienced Shot Blasters / Marine Blasters to join our team in Plymouth on a permanent basis.
The successful candidates will carry out abrasive blasting and surface preparation activities within a marine environment while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Pay Rates
* Basic: £17.50 per hour
* Overtime 1: £22.75 per hour
* Overtime 2: £28.00 per hour
Please note: The Blaster rate will only apply when employees are actively carrying out blasting duties.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out abrasive blasting and surface preparation activities
* Remove paint, rust, scale and other surface contaminants
* Prepare marine structures and components for coating applications
* Operate blasting equipment safely and effectively
* Inspect prepared surfaces to ensure the required standard has been achieved
* Maintain blasting equipment and report any defects
* Keep work areas clean, organised and safe
* Follow all technical specifications and safe working procedures
* Comply with company and site health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
Essential Requirements
* Valid Silver TTP qualification
* Minimum of three years’ blasting experience
* Previous experience working within a marine or heavy industrial environment
* Good knowledge of abrasive blasting and surface preparation standards
* Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team
* Right to work in the UK
* Willingness and eligibility to complete the required security clearance process
Additional Requirements
* Applicants will be required to apply for a DBS check
* Drug and alcohol testing will form part of the induction process
* Continued employment will be subject to obtaining the required security clearanceBefore You Apply
