Job Description
The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Warrington area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Shunter Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.
Hours: Days or nights available, various shift patterns.
Pay Rate:
Please note that there will be a £2 uplift on below rates between 23th of November till 20th of December on below rates.
* Days: Monday to Thursday - £16.15 / Friday to Sunday - £18.65. (PAYE)
* Days: Monday to Thursday - £17.15 / Friday to Sunday - £21.65. (Rolled up holidays)
* Nights: Monday to Thursday - £17.40 / Friday to Sunday - £19.65 (PAYE)
* Nights: Monday to Thursday - £18.40 / Friday to Sunday - £22.62 (Rolled up holidays)
Location: Warrington, WA5.
Job Type: Ongoing position.
The role:
* Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations.
* Safely manoeuvre vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
* Conduct pre and post operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
* Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
* Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
* Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
* Assist with other yard duties as needed.
Requirements:
* Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
* Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
* No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
* Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.
* Full understanding of WTD legislation.
* Excellent communication skills.
