We have an excellent opportunity for a Site Agent to join our client’s site-based delivery team in the Plymouth.
Our client is a key delivery partner on a major UK infrastructure project — one of the most complex and high-profile schemes currently under construction.
Security Clearance Requirement:
Due to the sensitive nature of this project, applicants must either already hold valid Security Clearance (SC) or be eligible to obtain it.
To qualify, candidates must:
Hold a full British passport
Be willing to undergo SC vetting (the clearance process will be supported and managed by our client).
Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and management in a client-facing role, demonstrating a positive culture and upholding core values of safety, integrity, and quality.
*
Coordinate subcontractor activities, chairing regular site coordination and progress meetings.
*
Report to Senior Leadership Teams across multiple project and organisational functions.
*
Liaise with cross-functional site teams to enable seamless delivery of works and coordination across departments.
*
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date risk register in collaboration with the project team.
*
Scrutinise drawings and technical documentation, ensuring design and construction requirements are understood and executed correctly.
*
Provide intelligent oversight of works and raise relevant documentation such as TQs, RFIs, and NCRs as required.
*
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and best practice during construction and commissioning.

Site rules and emergency procedures
*
Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
*
Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
*
Permit-to-work systems
*
Site licence management and governance requirementsSupport and promote the training and development of subcontractors, site supervisors, and wider site teams.
*
Oversee detailed scheduling and programming of site activities in collaboration with subcontractors and project planners.
*
Lead and coordinate H&S and site progress meetings, ensuring project documentation is prepared and completed for handover.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Senior Engineer and 5+ years’ experience as a Site Agent on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage site-based teams effectively.
Competent in Microsoft Office and general IT applications.
Desirable:
Experience with BIM/Digital Engineering tools such as Autodesk or Bentley.Scheduling experience using Aphex, Primavera P6, or equivalent software.
Understanding of Behavioural Safety and positive safety culture principles.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Valid CSCS card.
SMSTS / IOSH certification.
Desirable:
Chartered status with a relevant professional institution.
Project Management training (e.g. APM, PRINCE2).
Nuclear industry training (e.g. Triple Bar).
Additional site qualifications such as Lifting Appointed Person, Medium Risk Confined Spaces, or Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor.
