ABOUT THE COMPANY

A leading civil engineering and energy infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to support major projects across Scotland. Operating from a strong Glasgow base, the company delivers high-profile works in renewables, grid upgrades, substations, utilities, highways, drainage, structures, and large-scale civil engineering.

THE ROLE

As Site Agent, you will take operational leadership of civil engineering and energy infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will oversee site teams, subcontractors, programme delivery, and HSEQ compliance while maintaining excellent communication with clients and internal project stakeholders. This role offers autonomy, responsibility, and exposure to some of Scotland’s most important infrastructure and renewable energy investments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  * 

    Lead the day-to-day management of civil engineering and energy projects across Scotland.

  * 

    Supervise site teams, labour, plant, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery.

  * 

    Drive compliance with CDM, company processes, and industry HSEQ standards.

  * 

    Review engineering drawings, technical documents, and design information for accuracy and buildability.

  * 

    Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits, quality records, and daily progress reports.

  * 

    Maintain programme performance, identify delays, and implement corrective measures.

  * 

    Interface with clients, DNOs/TNOs, local authorities, landowners, and project stakeholders.

  * 

    Support commercial teams with cost control, change management, and subcontractor coordination.

  * 

    Conduct progress meetings and produce accurate site reporting.

  * 

    Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example at all times.

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

  * 

    Proven experience as a Site Agent, Sub Agent, or Senior Engineer in civil engineering.

  * 

    Experience in one or more of the following sectors: energy infrastructure, substations, utilities, renewables, grid connections, heavy civils, or infrastructure.

  * 

    Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  * 

    Excellent knowledge of construction processes, HSEQ legislation, and CDM regulations.

  * 

    Confident in reading drawings, planning works, coordinating resources, and managing project delivery.

  * 

    CSCS (Gold/Black), SMSTS, and First Aid.

Desirable:

  * 

    Experience working on BESS, wind farm civils, substations, or cable installation projects.

  * 

    Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Supervisor (TWS).

  * 

    NEC contract exposure.
