Job Title: Construction Site Engineer – BESS Project
Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35)
Duration: 12 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Location: UK – Site Based
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This is a 12-month contract role starting ASAP, working outside IR35, and will be fully site-based overseeing construction activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction works are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with engineering specifications and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  * 
    Oversee day-to-day site construction activities related to the BESS installation.
  * 
    Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers on site.
  * 
    Ensure construction works are delivered in line with design drawings, technical specifications, and project standards.
  * 
    Monitor progress against the construction schedule and report updates to the project team.
  * 
    Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and site safety procedures.
  * 
    Support site inspections, quality checks, and technical issue resolution.
  * 
    Liaise with engineering, project management, and commissioning teams.
  * 
    Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting.
Requirements
  * 
    Proven experience working as a Site Engineer / Construction Engineer on infrastructure, energy, or power projects.
  * 
    Experience with BESS, renewable energy, substations, or power infrastructure is highly desirable.
  * 
    Strong understanding of construction management and site coordination.
  * 
    Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  * 
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  * 
    Right to work in the UK.
