Job Description

Site Engineer - Civils

Location: Peterhead, Scotland
 Rate: £500-£600 per day (Umbrella, inclusive of accommodation)
 Contract: 6 months initially, with a view to extend for a further 6-12 months
 IR35 Status: Inside IR35
 Start Date: ASAP
 Hours: 50 hours per week 
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major civils scheme based in Peterhead, Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with an established contractor, offering an initial six-month duration with the potential for extension for a further 6-12 months. 
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a range of civil engineering works, ensuring that activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.

The Role

As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering support across various elements of the project. You will work closely with the wider site team to ensure works are delivered to programme, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy throughout.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out accurate setting out for a variety of civil engineering activities.
Oversee and monitor earthworks, deep drainage, FRC, and general groundworks operations.
Ensure all works are delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Maintain high standards of quality control and complete associated QA documentation.
Produce and review as-built records and survey information.
Liaise effectively with site teams, subcontractors, and management to coordinate daily activities.
Identify and resolve technical issues on site, escalating where necessary.
Promote and maintain safe working practices in accordance with company and project procedures.
Support the planning and efficient delivery of works to programme.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years' experience working as a Site Engineer on UK civil engineering projects.
Previous experience working with a Tier One contractor is desirable.
Proven experience in one or more of the following disciplines: 
Earthworks
Deep drainage
Fibre Reinforced Concrete (FRC)
General groundworks
Strong setting out capabilities and quality assurance experience.
Proficient in the use of CAD software.
HNC, HND, or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
