Freelance Site Engineer – Bridgwater 
£360 Per Day PAYE (Including Holiday Pay) | Contract Until 2029
 
We are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure project near Bridgwater, supporting the delivery of a large reinforced concrete package on a long-term programme of works.
 This freelance Site Engineer opportunity offers work currently scheduled through to 2029, providing long-term continuity on one of the UK's largest civil engineering projects. Working as part of an experienced delivery team, the successful Site Engineer will be involved in a range of reinforced concrete and heavy civils activities across a technically challenging section of the scheme.
 
The Project 

The current phase of works includes:
  
Large in-situ reinforced concrete structures 
Retaining walls and structural bases 
Formwork, reinforcement and concrete pours 
Drainage and infrastructure installations 
Heavy foundations and structural concrete packages 
Earthworks and temporary works operations  The scale of the project offers a varied workload and exposure to complex engineering activities throughout the programme.
 
The Role 

As a Site Engineer, you will support the day-to-day delivery of works within your allocated area, ensuring quality standards, programme requirements and site procedures are maintained.
 
Key Responsibilities  
Setting out for reinforced concrete and civil engineering works 
Carrying out quality assurance checks and completing associated documentation 
Maintaining accurate site records and diaries 
Conducting material inspections and verification checks 
Supporting the coordination of subcontractors on site 
Ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with specifications 
Assisting with as-built surveys and progress reporting 
Working closely with Section Engineers and site management teams  All required surveying equipment and site tools will be provided.
 
About You 

This role is suited to a Site Engineer with experience working on heavy civils, infrastructure or reinforced concrete projects.
 Previous experience may include:
  
Major infrastructure schemes 
Reinforced concrete structures 
Bridges and structural civils works 
Water or wastewater projects 
Highways and earthworks schemes 
Large-scale construction projects  Requirements  
Based within one hour of the Bridgwater area 
Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering 
Experience with setting out and QA processes 
Good communication and organisational skills 
Full UK driving licence 
Right to work in the UK  Rate & Package  
£360 per day PAYE (including holiday pay) 
Long-term freelance contract running until 2029 
Major infrastructure project with a substantial programme of works
