Job Description

Freelance Site Engineer (Groundworks) 
Location: Leeds Area
Start Date: 10th August
Duration: 50 Weeks
Rate: £300 – £350 (DoE) 

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join the team on a long-term education development in the Leeds area.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a 50-week contract, working on a comprehensive groundworks package from commencement through to completion.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Site Manager and Contracts Manager, you'll take responsibility for all setting out and QA across the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme.
Scope of Works
•	Drainage
•	Foundations
•	Raft slabs (Low tolerance) 
•	Pop-ups
•	Section 278 (S278) works
•	External works
•	Car park construction
•	Sports pitches
•	Associated groundworks and infrastructure

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•	Setting out all aspects of the groundworks package using robotic total station/GPS equipment.
•	Producing and maintaining QA documentation and as-built records.
•	Checking line, level and dimensions to ensure works are delivered to specification.
•	Interpreting technical drawings and resolving on-site engineering queries.
•	Working closely with the Site Manager, subcontractors and client representatives.
•	Monitoring quality throughout the construction process.
•	Ensuring works are completed safely and in accordance with programme requirements.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The client is looking to speak with Site Engineers who have:
•	Proven experience delivering groundworks and civil engineering packages.
•	Strong setting out experience across drainage, foundations and reinforced concrete works.
•	Previous experience carrying out QA and producing as-built information.
•	Excellent organisational and communication skills.
•	The ability to work independently and manage multiple work fronts.

Essential Requirements
•	CSCS Card
•	Relevant Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, HND or Degree)
•	Full UK Driving Licence
