Site Engineer - Water / Civils - Suffolk
An established infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint a Site Engineer to support the delivery of major water infrastructure works on a high-profile UK construction programme.
This is a site-based engineering position with a strong focus on setting out, quality assurance and day-to-day civil engineering delivery across potable water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.
The project is being delivered within a highly regulated environment, so this would suit an engineer who is comfortable working to robust safety, quality and documentation standards.
The Role
Working closely with the Site Agent, Sub Agent and wider construction team, you will be responsible for:
·Setting out civil engineering works accurately using total station/GPS equipment
·Establishing and maintaining site control and survey information
·Producing and maintaining accurate setting-out records
·Completing QA documentation, inspection records and ITPs
·Supporting the delivery of reinforced concrete, drainage, pipework and associated civils
·Checking drawings, specifications and construction information
·Identifying technical issues and raising RFIs where required
·Producing as-built information and maintaining site records
·Supporting RAMS, permits and safe systems of work
·Monitoring subcontractor works against drawings and specifications
·Liaising with supervisors, subcontractors, designers and the wider delivery team
·Ensuring works are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with programme requirements
·Supporting environmental, quality and health & safety compliance
What We're Looking For
You will ideally have previous experience working as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer within the water sector, particularly on projects involving:
·Water treatment works / WTW
·Wastewater or sewage treatment works / STW / WwTW
·Potable water infrastructure
·Pipelines and pipework
·Pumping stations
·Reservoirs
·Reinforced concrete structures
·Drainage and underground services
·Major civils or utilities infrastructure
Experience working on AMP6, AMP7 or AMP8 water programmes would be particularly relevant.
You should also be comfortable working within a structured project environment where quality records, engineering assurance and traceability are an important part of delivery.
Qualifications / Requirements
Ideally you will hold:
·HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
·Valid CSCS card
·Strong setting-out capability
·Experience using modern surveying equipment
·Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
·Previous water, utilities or heavy civils experience
·Strong approach to QA and site documentation
·Good communication skills when working with site teams and subcontractors
Due to the nature of the project, the successful candidate will be required to complete site-specific pre-employment screening and security checks prior to mobilisation.
