Job Overview:
We are seeking a Freelance Site Engineer to join a delivery team on a major highways project in Norwich. The role requires a skilled engineer with extensive experience in highways construction, drainage works, and Quality Assurance (QA). This is a CIS-based freelance contract offering immediate start and the opportunity to be part of a high-profile infrastructure scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting out and managing day-to-day engineering operations on site.
Overseeing highway works including road construction, kerbing, and drainage installation.
Interpreting technical drawings and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
Conducting site surveys and using GPS/Total Station for accurate setting out.
Implementing and managing QA procedures: inspections, test plans (ITPs), check sheets, and as-built documentation.
Liaising with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and progress.
Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations and company standards.
Supporting handover and certification processes with complete, accurate QA records.
Essential Requirements:
Demonstrated experience on major highway and drainage projects.
Strong knowledge and implementation of Quality Assurance processes on civil engineering projects.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Total Station, GPS equipment, and QA documentation.
Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering (Degree, HND, or equivalent).
Valid CSCS card (Engineer level) and SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
Able to operate under the CIS scheme as a freelancer.
Full UK driving licence.

Payment: Competitive daily rate - CIS basis
