Job Description
Job Title: Civils Site Engineer - Northern England
Package: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a leading civil engineering contractor operating across Scotland and Northern England. Due to ongoing success and a strong pipeline of infrastructure work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of complex heavy civils projects across their Northern England sites.
This is a role for someone with strong practical experience in earthworks, drainage, and reinforced concrete structures, ideally within the energy or marine sectors, and who is happy to work across multiple sites in Northern England. Accommodation and subsistence are provided when working away from home.
Responsibilities:
· Setting out and surveying works in accordance with design drawings and specifications
· Provide technical support to site teams and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out correctly
· Assist in managing and coordinating site activities to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently
· Monitor quality standards, complete relevant QA documentation, and ensure compliance with ITPs
· Support the preparation of RAMS and permits for site operations
· Liaise with the design and project management teams to address technical queries
· Keep accurate records of work progress, materials, and plant usage
· Promote a positive safety culture and ensure HSEQ procedures are followed at all times
Requirements:
· Previous experience as a Site Engineer on heavy civils projects - ideally within energy or marine infrastructure
· Solid understanding of earthworks, drainage, concrete works, and associated civil engineering techniques
· Competent with setting out equipment (e.g., GPS, total station) and AutoCAD
· CSCS card essential; SMSTS and First Aid desirable
· Temporary Works awareness or supervisor ticket beneficial
· Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or similar
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Full UK Driving Licence
· Willingness to travel across sites in Northern England/South Scotland
Package:
· £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
· Car allowance + mileage
· Accommodation & subsistence covered when working away
