Freelance Site Engineer – Steel Frame Projects (Liverpool)
A well-established civil and structural contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support ongoing steel frame construction projects in the Liverpool area. This is an ideal opportunity for a site engineer with a background in structural steelwork and a hands-on approach to delivering fast-paced builds.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting out for steel frame erection, bolt positions, and anchor bolts
* Assisting with the coordination of steel deliveries and installation
* Liaising with steelwork contractors and site teams to ensure accurate assembly
* Checking tolerances, line, and level of steel frame elements
* Ensuring drawings and structural specifications are followed on site
* Producing site reports, QA documentation, and as-built records
* Supporting health & safety compliance and site logistics planning
Requirements:
* Proven experience in site engineering on steel frame building projects
* Proficient in setting out using GPS and Total Station
* CSCS card (essential)
* SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred)
* Strong understanding of structural drawings and steel detailing
* Full UK driving licence
* Able to work independently and manage site priorities
