Our Client is looking to recruit an engineer to work in a busy production environment, experience would be preferred but training will be provided for the appropriate candidate.
Job Summary
You will be responsible for identifying and fixing faults on mailing machines and associated equipment. To assist production in gaining best throughput speeds whilst reducing remake waste to continually improve efficiencies through production. To support all shifts in achieving the required and planned daily throughout ensuring all products produced meet agreed standards following company procedures and best practice.
Normal Hours of Business: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday – 07:00 – 15:00. Thirty minute break. Overtime as and when required.
Holidays: 25 days, plus 8 Bank holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities
Report any Health and Safety matters immediately to Management and follow SSOW
To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and its associated policies.
Effect repairs to mailing machines and associated equipment where necessary, such as mechanical/electrical fault repairs
Maintain, support and service any piece of production associated equipment, mailers, guillotines, folding machines, book makers etc.
Liaise with Production Management Teams on machine performance, problems and improvements.
Provide ideas and feedback to the Production Management teams on machine problems
Maintain proper administration of parts usage
Communicate effectively, problems and solutions either written or verbally
Communicate to relevant stakeholders information that can assist the site to have greater efficiency
Be a strong continuous improvement leader, look for opportunities, report on successes and failures to stakeholders.
Mentor machine operators, in order to enhance their operating skills
To be pro-active at all times to help maximize productivity
Highlight and bring to Managers attention any exposure or risk for the department or business
Ensure a clear and precise handover is given to the oncoming shift team members
To keep the workshop area clean and tidy at all times and comply with health and safety regulations
Manage your breaks in line with machine production minimising unnecessary downtime
Any other reasonable responsibility given to you by your manager.
Skills / Experience
· Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
· Good diagnostics skills
· Ability to follow electrical diagrams
· Can work as part of a team
· Proactive in offering improvements to current processes
· Ability to do board level repair preferred but not essential
