Site manager/ Health & safety Officer

Hours: 8:15-4:45

We are working with an independent special school, catering for up to 40 pupils aged 11 to 19 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Education Support Worker to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that the school site, buildings, and grounds are consistently well-maintained, safe, and presentable.
Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to coordinate and oversee the work of external contractors.
Uphold high standards of Health and Safety throughout the school premises.
Carry out routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs as required.
Ensure that all heating, lighting, and alarm systems are operational and properly maintained.
Organise and supervise external contractors for specialised maintenance or repair work.
Always maintain the security of the school buildings and grounds.
Essential Criteria:
Strong practical DIY skills and the ability to complete minor repairs independently.
A sound understanding of Health and Safety regulations and practices.
High level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
Awareness of safeguarding and child protection principles within a school environment.
Ability to use initiative, work independently, and manage time effectively.

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (can be arranged via Teaching Personnel)
Two most recent professional references covering the last 24 months
Overseas Police Check if applicable (for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the past 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
