The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction and refurbishment contractor delivering high-quality works across the defence, residential and public sectors. Due to a newly awarded MOD project, we are seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in external refurbishment and planned works, with some kitchen and bathroom experience preferred.
You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and timely delivery of refurbishment works across occupied and void MOD properties. This role requires professionalism, strong organisation and excellent communication, with a focus on maintaining high standards and strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day site operations on an MOD refurbishment project
*
Manage external works packages, including roofing, façades, windows, doors, fencing, and associated repairs
*
Supervise kitchen and bathroom refurbishment works where required
*
Ensure all works are delivered to specification, within programme, and to a high-quality finish
*
Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and daily/weekly briefings
*
Maintain strong relationships with clients, residents, subcontractors and internal teams
*
Ensure compliance with MOD protocols, security procedures and documentation
*
Coordinate subcontractors, materials, deliveries and site logistics
*
Monitor and enforce site health & safety, ensuring a safe working environment at all times
*
Complete site reports, progress updates, QA checks and H&S documentation
*
Work closely with Resident Liaison Officers to minimise disruption and support residents
Skills & Experience Required
*
Proven experience as a Site Manager within refurbishment, planned works or external improvement projects
*
Experience working on MOD, defence, government or high-security sites (desirable, not essential)
*
Strong background in external refurb (roofing, cladding, windows, fabric repairs), with experience in K&B upgrades beneficial
*
Excellent leadership and communication skills
*
Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors
*
Strong understanding of H&S legislation and safe site practice
*
SMSTS (essential)
*
CSCS (Black / Gold preferred)
*
First Aid at Work
*
Full UK Driving Licence
*
Ability to work professionally in sensitive, secure or occupied environments
