Job Description

Site Manager – Southampton
Location: Southampton
Duration: 12 Months

Bond Recruit Limited are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager on behalf of our client, for a major project based in Southampton.

This is a 12-month contract overseeing a £10 million change-of-use development, involving a full strip-out and refurbishment of an existing building into a new purpose.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This is a complex refurbishment scheme requiring strong leadership and experience in managing large-scale internal reconfigurations.

Key Responsibilities

  * Manage all on-site activities from inception through to completion

  * Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel

  * Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations

  * Monitor programme and drive progress to meet key deadlines

  * Maintain quality control throughout all stages of the project

  * Liaise with clients, consultants, and senior management

  * Manage site documentation, reporting, and compliance

Requirements

  * Proven experience as a Site Manager on projects of similar value (£5m–£15m+)

  * Strong background in refurbishment and change-of-use projects

  * Excellent leadership and communication skills

  * Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors effectively

  * SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential)

  * Strong understanding of H&S and site compliance
