Residential Site Manager (Timber Frame & Traditional Build) Location: Plymouth Contract Type: Freelance to Permanent Daily Rate: £300 per day (Freelance) Permanent Salary: £65,000 – £70,000+ package
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Residential Site Manager on behalf of our client in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled site manager looking to transition from freelance/contract work into a stable permanent role with a well-established residential developer.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the successful delivery of high-quality residential developments, working on a mix of timber frame and traditional build projects. Experience in apartment developments would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day management and coordination of residential construction sites
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards
Managing subcontractors, labour, and material deliveries
Maintaining excellent health & safety standards and compliance
Liaising with clients, designers, and local authorities as required
Monitoring programme and budget performance
Requirements
Proven experience as a Residential Site Manager
Strong background in both timber frame and traditional build methods
Experience in apartment/build-to-rent developments is highly advantageous
Must hold valid CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid qualifications
Scaffold Inspection qualification would be a distinct advantage
Ability to work independently and manage multiple trades effectively
Strong communication and leadership skills
Location & Commitment
This position is based in Plymouth. Candidates must live locally in Plymouth or within daily commuting distance.
Package & Opportunity
Freelance daily rate: £300 per day
