Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee day-to-day site operations, logistics, and facilities coordination within HMP Glasgow. The role ensures safe, secure, and efficient management of site activities in a custodial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  * Oversee daily site operations, including logistics, maintenance coordination, and contractor activities

  * Ensure all site activities comply with prison security procedures and regulations

  * Manage materials, deliveries, and on-site storage in line with security requirements

  * Supervise contractors and site staff, ensuring safe and efficient working practices

  * Maintain accurate site records, permits, and compliance documentation

  * Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments

  * Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation and HM Prison Service standards

  * Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to support site operations

Essential Requirements

  * Experience in site management, facilities management, or construction/site operations

  * Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements

  * Ability to operate within strict security environments

  * Good leadership, organisational, and communication skills

  * Competence in site documentation and reporting systems

Desirable

  * Experience in custodial or secure environments

  * Relevant qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, IOSH/NEBOSH)

  * Knowledge of public sector or regulated environments

Security Requirement

  * Appointment subject to successful Scottish Disclosure (PVG) clearance and security vetting
