Job Description

My client are a national civil engineering contractor who are currently seeking a Site Manager to help deliver a water treatment scheme in Preston, with an immediate start available. The project involves tunnelling and shaft construction, so previous experience managing underground works is essential.

Site Manager Responsibilities:

  * Toolbox talks

  * Client liaison

  * Stakeholder liaison

  * Health and safety compliance

  * Ordering materials

  * Managing day-to-day site operations

  * Supervising subcontractors and site teams

  * Managing the delivery of tunnelling and shaft construction works

  * Overseeing deep excavations and associated civil engineering works

  * Ensuring works are delivered on programme and to specification

  * Managing RAMS, permits, temporary works, and site documentation

  * Overseeing quality control, inspections, and as-built records

  * Supporting the Project Manager with programme delivery and client reporting

Site Manager Requirements:

  * Black or Gold CSCS

  * SMSTS

  * Previous experience managing tunnelling and shaft construction projects is essential

  * Previous experience working on water treatment or water infrastructure schemes

  * Strong civil engineering background

  * Experience managing specialist subcontractors and underground works

  * Knowledge of temporary works and deep excavations

  * IT literate

  * Full UK driving licence
