Job Title: Experienced External Site Manager - 17 Week Contract

Location: DA11 9DF
Contract Length: 17 weeks
Start Date: 10/08/2026
Rate: £240 per day | PAYE or CIS
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Mon-Fri

About the Role

Actaris are looking for an experienced External Site Manager to run a 17-week external works package.This is a hands-on management role overseeing all external elements on site from set-up to completion. You’ll be responsible for H&S, program, quality, and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities

Site Set Up Day 1 - Induction, welfare, signage, hoarding, site logistics Scaffold Management - Liaise with scaffold contractor. Inspections, TAG system, permitsHoist - Goods/personnel hoist coordination, inspections, RAMSWaste Management - Skips, grab, waste transfer notes, site cleanliness, recycling targets

Roofing Works - Oversee safe delivery, program, and quality of roof repairs/replacementHandrail Installation - Coordinate install to spec, snagging, H&S complianceMetal Capping to Parapet - Manage installation, weatherproofing details, interfacesSubcontractor Management - Daily briefings, RAMS sign-off, progress chasingH&S + Quality - Site inspections, toolbox talks, snag lists, client reports, Program + Reporting - Weekly progress, photos, look-ahead programs

Essential Requirements

SMSTS - Site Manager Safety Training Scheme. Valid3 Day First Aid - Valid certificate CSCS Card - Black Manager’s Card essential - Proven experience running external works packages 12+ weeks

Experience with:

Scaffold, Hoist, Waste management, Roofing, Handrail, Metal parapet capping

Right to work in UK

Strong knowledge of H&S, RAMS, CDM 2015Desirable SSSTS Trainer Asbestos Awareness Experience on schools / occupied sites / public buildings DBS - If working on education sites

Must have: SMSTS, 3 Day 1st Aid, CSCS Black Manager
Exp needed: Site set up, Scaffold, Hoist, Waste, Roofing, Handrail, Metal parapet capping
