Job Description

My client are a national civil engineering contractor who are currently seeking a Site Manager to help deliver a major tunnelling scheme in Ipswich, with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist team delivering complex underground infrastructure works on a long-term project.

Site Manager Responsibilities:

  * Toolbox talks

  * Client liaison

  * Stakeholder liaison

  * Health and safety compliance

  * Ordering materials

  * Managing day-to-day site operations

  * Supervising subcontractors and site teams

  * Coordinating tunnelling activities and associated civil engineering works

  * Ensuring works are delivered on programme and to specification

  * Managing site documentation, RAMS, permits, and temporary works

  * Overseeing quality control, inspections, and site records

  * Supporting the Project Manager with programme delivery and client reporting

Site Manager Requirements:

  * Black or Gold CSCS

  * SMSTS

  * Previous experience managing tunnelling or major civil engineering projects

  * Experience with shaft sinking, SCL, TBM, pipe jacking, or microtunnelling would be advantageous

  * Strong civil engineering background

  * IT literate

  * Full UK driving licence
