Site Manager – 1 Week Cover

Location: Birmingham

Duration: 1 week

Start: 21/08/26

Rate: £260p/d - £280p/d per day

Contract: Freelance / Temporary

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to provide 1 week's cover for a reputable Tier 2 main contractor on a completed project in Birmingham.

The building is now in the commissioning and handover phase, with the main construction works complete. The successful Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing the site during this final stage, ensuring the building remains secure, subcontractors are coordinated effectively and any outstanding commissioning or close-out activities are progressed smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Acting as the main point of contact on site throughout the week.
	
Opening and securing the site each day, including responsibility for site keys and access.
	
Liaising with subcontractors and commissioning teams attending site.
	
Coordinating daily activities to ensure works are carried out safely and efficiently.
	
Monitoring subcontractor attendance and ensuring they are working to the agreed programme.
	
Conducting regular site inspections and maintaining general site standards.
	
Assisting with the coordination of outstanding snagging, testing and commissioning activities.
	
Ensuring all visitors and contractors sign in and comply with site procedures.
	
Maintaining a safe and orderly working environment.
	
Communicating any issues or progress updates to the Project/Contracts Manager.
	
Ensuring the site is left secure at the end of each working day.

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Site Manager within a main contracting environment.
	
SMSTS.
	
Valid CSCS card.
	
Strong understanding of health & safety and site procedures.
	
Good communication and organisational skills.
	
Comfortable working independently and managing subcontractors.
	
Previous experience working through commissioning, snagging or handover stages would be advantageous.
