Our client is currently recruiting for a Site Manager with either Nebosh General or Construction qualifications. The Site manager will be confident in coordinating multiple subcontractors on a live public site, and comfortable taking full ownership of Permits to Work, RAMS and CDM 2015 compliance.
Key responsibilities for the Site Manager
Working under the direct supervision of the Project Manager
Lead by example and embed a safety culture, promoting Hazard and Near Miss reporting
Ensure all works are carried out safely and that supervisors and teams comply with relevant legislation and regulations
Conduct RAMS evaluations, pre-start briefings, Toolbox Talks, point-of-work risk assessments, site inspections and incident reporting
Issue and manage Permits to Work (PTW) for all high-risk activities, including mid-permit monitoring checks
Actively supervise all active work zones, with a minimum of two inspections per zone per day
Coordinate installation works with multiple subcontractors and stakeholders, including verifying Traffic Management arrangements at all excavation pits
Identify and expose faults on buried networks that do not meet project specifications
Manage pedestrian and public protection across the site, controlling access to excavations and other high-risk areas
Order materials, handle deliveries and support commissioning activities
Attend weekly site meetings and report progress and concerns to the Project Manager
Maintain daily site records, QA packs and logs, reporting progress and budget matters to senior management
Complete weekly formal Health & Safety inspections and submit the weekly H&S summary to the Construction Director
Oversee environmental compliance, including COSHH substance management
Share lessons learnt with the wider organisation and embed a near-miss reporting culture Key Experience for the Site Manager
