Site Manager – Number 1 Site Manager
Location: Yorkshire & Nationwide Projects
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a long standing client as the Number 1 on site, taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects.

The client is an established construction business with a strong presence across Yorkshire, although they also undertake projects further afield. This role would suit an experienced Site Manager who is confident taking ownership of a project from start to finish and leading the site team to deliver safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.

THE ROLE
As the Number 1 Site Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running and delivery of your project.
Your responsibilities will include:
•	Taking overall responsibility for the management and delivery of the site.
•	Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.
•	Planning and monitoring works to ensure the project remains on programme.
•	Coordinating with the Project Manager, Site Engineer and wider project team.
•	Ensure all works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and agreed standards.
•	Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
•	Managing site logistics, sequencing and day-to-day coordination.
•	Monitoring workmanship and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
•	Working closely with the Site Engineer on setting out, QA and technical matters.
•	Reviewing RAMS and ensuring they are communicated and adhered to on site.
•	Attending and leading site meetings where required.
•	Monitoring progress and reporting against programme.
•	Managing site documentation, records and reporting.
•	Identifying and resolving issues before they impact programme or delivery.
•	Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team.
•	Ensuring the site is maintained to a professional standard throughout the project.

ABOUT YOU
I am looking for an experienced Site Manager who has previously operated as a Number 1 on site and is comfortable taking full ownership of project delivery.
You will ideally have:
•	Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.
•	Previous experience running projects as the Number 1 Site Manager.
•	Strong knowledge of construction processes and site management.
•	Excellent understanding of health & safety requirements.
•	Experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
•	Strong programme and planning skills.
•	The ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
•	Excellent communication and leadership skills.
•	A proactive approach to problem-solving.
•	Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
•	Relevant construction qualifications and certifications.
•	A full UK driving licence.

Projects & Travel
The client predominantly operates across Yorkshire, meaning the majority of projects will be within the region.
However, the business also undertakes projects further afield, so there will be occasions where staying away from home is required.
For projects requiring lodging away from home, the client provides:
•	Accommodation fully paid for
•	Breakfast provided
•	Evening meal provided
•	£50 per day lodge allowance
