Site Manager – Civil Engineering
Location: Plymouth (permanent)
Salary: Up to £50,000 + benefits (DOE)
The Role
We’re recruiting a Site Manager to lead the safe, efficient delivery of civil engineering works across Plymouth and the wider Devon/Cornwall area. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day site operations, driving programme, quality, and HSE performance while coordinating subcontractors and liaising with clients and the wider project team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead site delivery to programme, budget, and specification
Champion HSE: site inductions, briefings, RAMS, permits, audits
Manage subcontractors, labour, plant and materials
Short-term planning/lookaheads, progress reporting, and records
Quality control: ITPs, inspections, NCRs, handover documentation
Interface with clients, designers, and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly
About You
Proven Site Manager (civils/infrastructure) with main contractor experience
Strong HSE leadership; confident with RAMS/permits and site compliance
Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
Competent with programmes, reporting and site records
Full UK driving licence
Qualifications (preferred)
SMSTS (or equivalent), CSCS
First Aid at Work
Temporary Works (Appointed Person/Supervisor) advantageous
